Meditations on the Sacred Heart

Meditations on the Sacred Heart compiles meditations on the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus into a single volume which will prove of use to many fervent clients of the devotion. These thirty-one meditations can supply sufficient matter for an entire Month of meditations on the Sacred Heart. The book may thus be used as a book of meditations for the month of June.

Many meditations are followed by a few short points for practical self-examination on subjects connected with devotion to the Sacred Heart. Appropriate spiritual reading, taken from the Imitation, is assigned at the end of each meditation. Prayers are given at the conclusion of this first series of meditations which can be recited after Communion on each of the First Fridays.

Also included is a description of the Apostleship of Prayer, a League of prayer and zeal focused on spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart, the Morning Offering, and communions of reparation.

Finally, instructions and meditation material are given for Holy Hours, which can be made at any time, but especially as part of the First Friday devotion.
